Sunday School
Children
The children's Sunday school classes follow a quarterly curriculum by Cokesbury. Each curriculum is a Bible study for Sunday school that enables children to experience God through Jesus Christ. Children and the teachers will experience together, in Christian community, the stories and messages of the Bible appropriate to the children's increasing maturity through lessons that provide opportunities for discussion and ideas for activities.
The studies help children and the teachers who work with them:
- develop a deep and life-giving relationship with God
- respond in faith to Jesus Christ's redeeming love
- seek and trust the guidance of the Holy Spirit
- recognize the Holy Bible as the Word of God, the primary guide for faith and practice
- identify themselves as children of God and grow in discipleship.
We have 5 age appropriate Sunday school classes that are covered by the Exploring Faith curriculum.
- 2 & 3 Year Olds
- 4 & 5 Year Olds
- K -1st Grade
- 2 - 3 Grade
- 4 - 5 Grade
Youth
The youth Sunday School class takes a slightly diffrent approach to Sunday School and what happens there when compared to the traditional preception of Sunday School which is - "strictly in-depth Bible study" (not that we think anything is wrong with this method of learning). But, many groups take time and learn many great and interesting things about the Bible and do not apply it to their lives. We in the Youth Sunday School class find it vital to be able to apply what we learn to our lives...our everyday lives. Topics such as friendship, gossip, loneliness, dating, parents, and similar topics are extremely relevant to our lives, researched Biblically, and then presented in the form of a discussion in the class.
